London Bus Route 206 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to Metroline and it is also an iBus.

History[]

This bus hasn't changed very much since it started on the 22 September 1990 to provide links between Kilburn, Willesden and Harlesden. The route started from North Wembley St. Raphael's Estate via todays route 206 except instead of going directly to Willesden Community Hospital it took a double run to Willesden Bus Garage Forecourt and then back. Another difference was that instead of going via Brondesbury Road and Kilburn Brent Library towards Kilburn Park Station it went via Carton Vale, Cambridge Avenue and Cambridge Road like todays route 316.In 1995, the route's allocation was moved from Willesden (AC) to North Wembley (NW). Route 206 also had no Sunday service until 1996. The bus was also re-routed between Kilburn and Queen's Park now running via Brondesbury Road. In 1997, the double run at Willesden Bus Garage Forecourt was withdrawn and the route finally became what it is today. The route 206 has always been a low floor bus and in 2002 it was converted into a Dennis Dart SLF / Plaxton Pointer 2. In 2007, the route was converted into a MAN 12.240 10.2m / MCV Evolution along with other routes like route 190 and 232. In June 2009, the night service between North Wembley St Raphael's Estate and Brent Park Superstores was withdrawn on routes 206 and 232. London Bus Route 206 has always been operated by Metroline.
